1. Is biking safe in Delhi?
Yes ! You will be surprised how easy it is to cycle around. Indeed, there are cows, cycle riksja's and pedestrians to deal with, but just go with the flow. Of course, it helps a lifetime we follow a carefully designed route and have the best bikes in town.
2. What is your cancellation policy?
At DelhiByCycle we have a 48 hour cancellation policy for all tour changes & cancellations. So in any case of cancellation within 48 hours prior to departure the booking fee (Rs. 1450/-) will be charged. The payment should be settled 24h minimum before the booked tour at our office: Siddarth Niwas 144/3, Hari nagar Ashram (Ashram flyover, service lane at corner Ring Road and Matura Road). In case of rain, only DelhiByCycle decides on the same morning whether the tour can be operated or not. If the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions, we offer a reschedule or refund of 50% of booking price.
3. Are your tours in English?
Yes, all of our guides are fluent in English. We always make sure there's a Hindi speaking co-guide as well, just to make sure he can translate all the compliments of the local people...:-) Some of our guides speak additional languages as well. When you make the booking, you can also mention your mother tongue and we can try to accommodate a guide speaking your native language upon availability.
4. How to pay? Do you accept Credit Cards?
Payment has to be done in advance. No, at the moment we only accept cash (Indian Rupees and Euro) directly at our office in South Delhi or via bank deposit: for that, you can go to any HDFC Bank branch and deposit the money into our HDFC account. Account number: 02942560003154 in favor of ‘Gotcha Impact Media Pvt Ltd’.
5. How many people do you take on the tours?
We take maximum 8 participants in one group. Not only to give you the best value for money, but we also think that small group will give our tour the personal touch which we are famous for. If your group is of a bigger size, it can be split into 2 or 3 sub groups, and still conducted on the same day. Maximum number of participants per day is 24.
6. Are the bikes included in the tour price and can I bring my own bike?
Yes, of course bikes are included in the price. What would DelhiByCycle be without our own fancy looking and comfortable bikes. Our bikes are well maintained with adjustable seats, we are sure you can find a match :) Therefore bringing your own bicycles is not an option.
7. What about children?
Children are more than welcome! If needed we provide a baby seat at the back of your bicycle. But every child is different... Some young kids can easily cycle in Old Delhi, while some older children have more difficulties. For children cycling themsleves, we do have smaller bicycles, for which the child should be a minimum of 150cm tall and able to cycle, of course. So parents, it's your own judgement.
8. Where is the meeting place?
As our tours cover areas in Old and New Delhi we have two different meeting points:

For the Shah Jahan,Yamuna and Raj tour please meet us at: Underground parking opp. Delite Cinema at Asaf Ali Road (Old Delhi, near Turkman Gate) Known by every driver!

For the Nizamuddin tour please meet us: Inside the Nizamuddin Basti at the entrance of the Hope Project.

9. Do you do the tours daily?
Yes we do! And since July 2011, we are offering 4 daily routes.
10. What about the weather conditions (heat, rain)?
In summer we beat the heat by leaving early. Rain is most likely in the two-month rain season (July/August). DelhiByCycle will inform clients individually if a tour can not be conducted due to rain.
11. I haven't bean cycling for ages. What to do?
Cycling is a skill nobody ever forgets, just like swimming or walking. Once you are on a bike again, valued childhood memories will rise. But... we do ask for standard bicycle level, which actually means you should be able to ride a bike. If not, it's always up to the guide to decide if a participant is allowed to continue the tour. After all, safety is important for all of us.
12. What to wear?
Keep in mind that Old Delhi is mainly a Muslim area. So please dress according to the local customs, which means especially for the ladies: no shorts and sexy shirts. We also recommend not to wear toe-slippers. We are guests of the old city and it`s people, so please respect their customs. And do bring some warm cloths in winter time (December and January), it can be cold at departure time.
13. Should I bring my own drinks?
Mineral water, chai (Indian tea) and soft drinks are all part of the tour. Also included are the snacks and a Mughul breakfast at famous Karim's restaurant of Bangali Sweet House (depending on the route). So we would say there is no need.
14. I have doubts about my physical condition. What to do?
We make sure that there are plenty of stops and the speed of cycling is average to low. We are not competing for the yellow jersey in Tour the France...
15. We are a large group/repeat clients. Do we get discounts?
