DelhiByCycle is an initiative founded by Dutchman Jack Leenaars in 2009. As the former South Asia correspondent for De Telegraaf Jack started early in the morning on his cycle to discover the back lanes of Delhi. From a couple of participants on his first expeditions, the cycling tours have become a full hit in Delhi’s streets. Unique, green and most important, it’s a project with a soul. Each time Jack is on this bike he gets inspired by the streets of Delhi and can’t stop a bright smile on his face. Jack and his family including his wife Noreen, their son Piotr and their two daughters Mali and Juul live together with a dog and a cat in Jangpura.

Mukesh: reliable and friendly. Excellent co-guide (= the guy at the back of the group) he has been with us from the early beginning. Loves chocolate cookies at the chai break. We love his disarming smile. Prahlad: From a little village in Chhatisgarh (Central India), to a flowerist's in New Delhi and now a co-guide at DelhiByCycle, Prahlad had finally seems to have found his groove! Quiet and dependable, he is always there to greet us and our clients with a wide smile! Both Mukesh and Prahlad also work for our partner Cards4U.

Kailash, Nawab and Ajay: 3 other co-guide with a unique background. DelhiByCycle doesn't want to be a cycle tour only, as daily guests of Old Delhi we face lots of dramatic scenes. For example street children who are forced to sleep just a few meters from our meeting point. That's why we decided to offer a job opportunity to these kids. And the best ngo to co.

cooperate with is Salaam Baalak (also see Our Friends), who offer hundreds of these kids living in and around New Delhi station a future. Kailash, Nawab and Ajay are 3 of them and we are proud they have become part of our team.
